Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the theories, techniques, and methods of training and coaching of distance runners. To do this, the ideas advanced by the leading authorities in the field will be investigated and an attempt will be made to formulate a usable program for the development of college freshman and sophomore distance runners.
