Abstract
This study was designed to survey leadership use of the Family Home Evening Program. A questionnaire was administered covering basic Family Home Evening elements, lesson preparation procedures, and family age and composition. Comments were asked for on observable changes in family and individual behavior resulting from use of the program. Respondents were also asked to indicate the significance they attached to the program.
Briefly the study indicated that few families held the program on a regular basis; that among families with small children the program was more successful than among families with teenage children. Lesson preparation procedures were questionable when considered in the light of family involvement and effective lesson presentations. Most family heads consider the program of Divine origin and of benefit to the individual family memebers
Recommendations included a number of suggestions to help families have greater success with the program and suggestions for additional research.
