Abstract
This project was developed to provide teachers with a handbook for the presentation of a set of four separate parent workshops. The purpose of the workshops was to instruct parents to work effectively with their child to improve reading. The handbook was intended: 1. To assist teachers in directing parents in a specific skill area in reading. 2. To provide parents with a method for practicing the skill covered in school with their child. 3. To provide parents with practice in working with a given skill during the workshop time. 4. To provide the parents with follow-up materials to work with their child at home.
