Rufus Woods: High Priest of the Columbia River
Department or Administrative Unit
For more than four decades, the Wenatchee newpaperman Rufus Woods energetically promoted Wenatchee and central Washington State. As owner and publisher of the Wenatchee Daily World from 1907 to 1950, Woods was a tireless spokesman for the economic development of the Columbia River Valley and a major proponent of hydroelectric power.
