Abstract
This study will attempt to define the role of the elementary school teacher in the health education program. More specifically, it will seek to discover (1) what responsibility the teacher has in identifying, referring, diagnosing, and treating health problems; (2) what information should be given children and how this information can be taught effectively; and (3) whether the school health curriculum should include teaching health through observation as well as through a unit of study.
