Abstract
It is the purpose of this paper to review literature concerning the philosophy and basic needs in planning an orientation program for sixth grade students entering junior high school in the fall. The writer will also be concerned with designing an orientation program. This program will give the sixth grade student the necessary basic understanding, from the time he leaves the sixth grade classroom in the spring, until he is a member of a junior high school in the fall. It is hoped that such a program will continually benefit the student throughout his secondary school years.
