Abstract
The article explores the use of cultural and social indicators in measuring and understanding anti-Americanism in Spain. It first notes the unique characteristics of Spanish anti-Americanism from a historical perspective and cites the political-based reasons for the phenomenon. It discusses the disparities of the three public opinion polls conducted before highlighting the need to deploy a combination of approaches to explain such public sentiment.
