Description
Looking northeast on Pennsylvania Avenue at the intersection of Third Street, the central business district of the coal mining town of Roslyn with its many false-front, wood frame buildings can be seen. Roslyn was founded with the discovery of coal and the coming of the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1886. During the first ten years after coal was discovered, the population of Roslyn increased ten-fold. Miners and their families arrived at this northern Kittitas County town from all parts of the world.Postcard titled, "Pennsylvania Avenue, Roslyn, Washington."
