Abstract
The purposes of this study were (1) to determine the attitudes and opinions of Okanogan, Yakima, and Kittitas county elementary teachers toward the value of reading workbooks in the reading program: (2) to determine the extent to which workbooks are utilized in the reading program of these counties; (3) to show the relation of the attitudes and opinions of teachers concerning the use of workbooks in the reading program to such factors as the teachers’ sex, years of experience, school enrollment, and grade level taught; (4) to make recommendations to schools of these counties concerning the use of workbooks in reading programs, and (5) to suggest leads for further research in this problem area.
