Abstract

Many musicologists have stated that the period of 1884 to 1886 was a transition period for Richard Strauss. The Funf Lieder Opus 15 was written during this transition period in 1885 and the writer has set out to examine the stylistic qualities employed by Strauss in his Funf Lieder.
