Abstract
The discussion about sculpture in this paper will be limited to the following three points:
1. The incorporation of the base into a sculpture; the removal of the base from a sculpture and what effects this has on the piece and its environment.
2. Variations on similar forms, and how they relate to baselessness.
3. Completely freeing the sculpture of any structural contact with the ground plane.
