Abstract
An investigation was conducted to determine the relationship between sex and karyology in Clematis ligusticifolia Nutt. (Ranunculaceae), a dioecious perennial.
Chromosome number and karyology of this species are discussed and a review of some of the major works of previous investigators of sex determinism in dioecious angiosperms is included.
