Abstract
This study compared the effectiveness of seating arrangements with academic learning in a positive and negative classroom. It was found that the relationship between the seating arrangement and academic behavior in the positive room was statistically significant, but not in the negative room. This study was limited by a small sample, one week durations of each seating arrangement, a test that had not been used previously, and possibly the "Hawthorne effect."
