Abstract

This study investigated the effects of an exemplary program on the academic achievement of grade three and four students in the Mt. Adams School District. Students in grades three and four were paired on a basis of sex, ethnic origin, IQ, age, and socio-economic status. Achievement was determined with the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. Students in the selected grades in 1971 were compared with students in the same grades in 1973. The test scores of the groups and sub-groups were given a test with the level of significance of .05. Forty-two of forty-four t tests showed the program had caused no significant change in academic achievement.
