Abstract
The purposes of this study were (1) to discover the reasons for the development of the dual system of education in Alaska; (2) to study how this system grew and still persists; (3) to show the importance of the Bureau of Indian Affairs schools in Alaska; and (4) to discover administrative problems facing the Bureau of Indian Affairs school administrator.
