Sánchez is a self-described “cheerleader” for young women and seeks to amplify the voices of marginalized people through storytelling. Her works include the novel I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter and the poetry collection Lessons in Expulsion. The Lion Rock Visiting Writers Series schedules readings every quarter and features nationally known writers reading their own work.
