Abstract

Librarians are an important resource of library operations. The new library environment requires librarians to improve their professional core competence in order to cope with the impact of information environment and social environment on library. This paper is a dialogue between Chinese and U.S. librarians which discusses different aspects of stafing and innovative services in academic libraries.
