Description
Samuel T. Packwood and his wife Margaret Holmes Packwood were early pioneer in Kittitas County. He was the County Sheriff during the strikes of 1888 and 1889. He was often called to Roslyn to execute the law in order to ease the explosive relationship between striking miners and the newly arrived African-American strike breakers.
