Abstract
From military leaders to political figures to revolutionaries, these figures influenced the world and deserve to be documented. While examining them, the future of leadership can also be determined, with adaptations made by learning from the past. This presentation analyzes a number of these historical figures, looking at their individual styles of leadership, and how they were effective. These include examples such as Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, George Washington, and even modern leaders such as James Mattis, going in depth on how they differed from other leaders of their time and what set them apart. For example, Julius Caesar was well known for his style of individualized consideration. Despite being the ruler of one of the greatest empires to date, he cared very deeply about the average low- and middle-class citizen, trying to make life better for them, not just the rich. His care for every single citizen beneath him is what helped lead Rome to greatness. Learning the lessons of Caesar, as well as other great leaders put forth through their lives, struggles, and victories, we can effectively lead not only ourselves, but generations to come.
