Abstract
Leadership is the active ingredient that transforms a group of individuals into a successful team striving for one goal- success. A leader is tasked with the goal of motivating a team to co-operate and perform efficiently. This efficiency can be achieved if a leader effectively manages group conflict, acknowledges diverse thought and uses it to create unique solutions, encourages good communication within the team, and motivates the team to be productive. Through these strategies, a leader has the opportunity to create a team that innovates new ideas. Individuals, when working alone, are weaker than coherent, unified teams. This weakness is due to a lack of diversity of thought. When diversity of thought and careful guidance exists, productivity and co-operation persist. The impact that effective leadership has on a group of people is truly astounding. An example of transforming a group of individuals into a unified team can be seen in the 2000 film Remember the Titans. In my presentation I will discuss different leadership qualities, both good and bad, and why it is important to know your leadership style. Leadership is the deciding factor that turns a group into a team striving for success.
