Abstract
This paper assesses whether community banks are positioned to benefit from the 2018 Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act (EGRRCPA). This was the first major change to banking regulations since the passage of the Dodd-Frank Act in 2010. The Law requires federal banking agencies to make changes to banking regulations including providing regulatory relief to small / community banks. This paper assesses the long-term financial structure relative to its peers and the current competitive environment for a Washington community bank. The hope is to better understand trends in community banks and how they may be effected by the new EGRRCPA law.
