Abstract
This project was created to integrate learning standards in social justice, Washington State Art Disciplines and children’s literacy. This project highlights meaningful activities integrating a widely-acclaimed anti-bias text, The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson, to help children in celebrating who they are and what makes them unique. Integrating the Art Disciplines into this will help them to celebrate not just their uniqueness but also the uniqueness of their friends and classmates.
