Abstract
Home Medicines Reminder and Dispenser Machine is a Project developed based on Micro-controller system. The Goal of this project is to help patients take medications on time and in the correct doses (Pills only currently). It has 4 containers that can hold 4 different kinds of medicines. They are fixed on a rotatable platform, which is controlled by a motor to rotate. Below each container is connected a hollow cylinder that can move up and down. These hollow cylinders are placed on a base that is concave and convex. When the platform rotates, the pills can fall into the cylinder through the up and down movement of the cylinder. After that, the platform can stop the designated pill container at the position of the medicine outlet through the control of a light sensor. Each hollow cylinder has a valve that allows only one pill to pass through. These valves are controlled by a small actuator. And, the machine also has a clock function, which can start the speaker in time to remind the patient to take medicine. When the time set by the patient is reached, the microchip will first activate the speaker to remind the patient. When the patient presses the confirmation button, the motor and the light sensor are activated to rotate the container of the required pills to the outlet. The number of pills needed is controlled by the actuator. When all the pills have been spat out, the speaker is then used to remind the patient to start taking the pills.
