Abstract
Meals consumed before an endurance event often provide adequate carbohydrate energy and enough water to allow for optimal hydration during the event. Several studies have investigated the effects of carbohydrate ingestion during and before exercise. The consensus is that consuming carbohydrate before or during endurance events is beneficial
