This collection features images of students, faculty, and buildings at Washington State Normal School (WSNS) in the 1890s-1930s. Washington State Normal School was founded in September 1891 as a training school for primary school teachers. WSNS incorporated "laboratory" components, in which students could observe elementary education in progress and practice their newly gained instruction skills. Nearly 100 years later--after two interim name changes--WSNS would take on the name Central Washington University.
