Abstract
Timothy Asch and Ethnographic Film had its beginnings in a 1994 retrospective at the University of Southern California to honor Timothy Asch who, fighting lymphoma, was nearing the end of his life. The book features articles by 13 scholars and numerous photographs, including samples of Asch’s earliest efforts as well as photographs from his less-well-known field experiences in Cape Breton, Japan, and Uganda.
