Abstract
Those of us who consider Commercial Design one of the arts are frequently criticized by some of our colleagues who maintain that this form of expression is not an art, because it lacks feeling, has no quality, and is stereotyped. Are these criticisms well founded, or are the critics at fault? Perhaps, since their work has been limited to the traditional phases of art—painting, sculpture, and design—they have disregarded the growing importance of commercial and industrial design in everyday living.
