Abstract
To increase higher level thinking skills among students the identification and integration of appropriate strategies and resources was studied and applied. The content area used to demonstrate the integration process was geography/social studies among students in grades K-12. As well as highlighting one district's efforts, the results sight the rationale for infusion of designated strategies in one content area. The necessity of infusing thinking skills instruction in all content areas is further emphasized. Also included in the study is a discussion and listing of measurement tools and future implications for testing student growth in analytical and evaluative thinking processes.
