Abstract

A review and development process resulted in the Chapter 1/Learning Assistance Program Handbook for use in the Central Kitsap School District in 1986 as a procedural reference for the coordinated efforts of the Federally-funded Learning Assistance Program. The handbook details procedures which allow the school district to comply with Washington State regulations which are designed to meet Federal guidelines. During the 1986-87 school year, the handbook was utlilized by school district personnel and program staff. A revision incorporating modifications of procedures and clarifications of wording was completed prior to the beginning of the 1987-88 school year. As guidelines, standards, and regulations change, procedures will be modified to reflect these changes and the handbook will continue to be updated.
