Abstract

A curriculum in the area of outdoor education for the mildly handicapped child in grades 4-6 was developed. The curriculum includes sequenced goal and objective statements, related teaching activties and materials for both classroom and camp settings, and a system for management and evaluation. While this project is intended for the mildly retarded student, the concepts and activities may be generalized to other populations. Recommendations for future study are discussed.
