Abstract

The orientation of a highly qualified and productive teaching staff is one of the most important administrative tasks. The purpose of this product was to develop district guidelines for the orientation of beginning teachers. The administrative handbook developed assists new teachers in their adjustment to the real world and helps them learn how to do the immediate job effectively. Recommendations include a continuing study of teacher orientation programs, further research into mentor programs and subsequent implementation of these guidelines.
