Abstract

Advisory programs are designed to help middle level students develop the strength and skills necessary to meet the challenges of adolescence. This project discusses the needs and characteristics of middle level students during these turbulent years of social, emotional, physical, and intellectual changes. Overviews of five advisory programs from school districts in Washington are included. Roles and responsibilities of involved individuals plus benefits of the project is an advisory unit program handbook designed to meet the guidance needs of Naches Valley Middle School students.
