Abstract
Physical education in Eastern Washington during inclement weather, without indoor facilities, places a premium on classroom physical education activities. A meaningful physical education curriculum is the goal with the emphasis upon classroom activities that provide movement education. A medium-sized, intermediate school in Eastern Washington is reviewed in depth regarding the physical education program during inclement weather. Surrounding schools were interviewed by telephone to determine their physical education programs. A list of in-class physical education activities is provided from the on-site staff and the literature. Conclusions and suggestions for the physical education program are made.
