Abstract
Making use of community resources through field trips is a practice which is widely accepted in education. The experience a child gains is not easily forgotten, and a well-planned field trip gives the child a meaningful learning situation. Teachers in the Chelan Elementary School were asked to share field trips they had taken and new sites they would be interested in visiting. Based on their responses and a survey of the literature, a handbook was compiled to assist teachers in planning curricular based field trips designed to enrich classroom learning.
