Abstract
This study explored the potential of video tape recording in improving acting and directing techniques. It also explores this medium as an instrument enabling the director to direct himself as actor. The effect video tape recording of rehearsals had on the actors, director and the total production was determined. The opinions and reactions were from three different viewpoints, the director, the actress and the actor who was also the director.
The conclusion was that the advantages far outweighed the disadvantages.
