Abstract

This paper presents a quasi-experimental study testing the consistency hypothesis of Lawrence Kohlberg with regard to the acquisition of moral qualities and ability to form moral judgment in fifth graders. The study involves thirty-two Catholic grade school children at the fifth grade level. Its scope is limited by Kohlberg 's reluctance to release information for data analysis. Recommendations include additional testing to confirm the trend of the limited sample, and suggestions for revised methodological changes in the experiment.
