Abstract

This study describes a program and its rationale for S. L. D.

children as it evolved over a two-year period. Approaches included

multi-sensory approach for reading, typing to develop reading and

spelling, and a combination of behavioral modification and group

therapy to improve self-image and develop social competence .

Shifts in grouping and changes in environment caused continuous

revision of the program. Test results showing growth patterns in

reading and spelling are included Suggestions for additional research

are made.
