Abstract
This study surveyed school psychologists, directors of programs at the local school level and a few State level directors, as well as educators of school psychologists. These four groups ranked eight roles and 92 competency statements relative to the training of a school psychologist. Overall, the four major roles emphasized were: (1) Psychological Consultant, (2) Behavior and Development Analyst, (3) Counselling, and (4) Interviewing. The State directors and educators of school psychologists appeared to rank the 92 competency statements slightly higher than the other two groups.
