Abstract
This thesis was designed to provide a histological and histochemical survey of the small intestine of the mink, Mustela vison. These two objectives were achieved and it was found that the histology and enzyme activity in this animal is in most respects similar to other mammals. Exceptions to this are the absence of a cecum and an ileocecal valve and the absence of lactase activity in the small intestine.
