Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the outcomes of the early admission practice of the Ellensburg Public Schools during the period 1956 through 1959 as it related to public school students whose birthdates occurred after September 10 and before February 1. These outcomes were studied in relation to a limited number of factors assumed to be significant in measuring the educational development and school progress of students. Screening procedures were related to these results. Junior high school performances of students originally admitted to kindergarten or the first grade after reaching normal minimum-age requirements were compared with those of students admitted prior to reaching such age.
