Abstract
"John Dewey undoubtedly has had a greater influence on educational thinking in this country than any other person of our time." Indeed, his provocative writings have been translated into almost every language. His concepts fathered the progressive education movement that launched a running battle with "traditional educators" which has lasted for more than fifty years. When John Dewey expresses himself on educational matters, therefore, most teachers are interested. Benjamin Fine of the New York Times recently interviewed Mr. Dewey to get his valuable analysis of present-day educational problems, and the interview was a fruitful one.
