Abstract
"What school experiences will my pupils enjoy sharing with their friends?" you ask yourself. As you think of the people in the community, it seems probable that many of them learned to read by the word method, that they mastered spelling by the valiant repetition of letters, that history to them was a mass of names and dates, and that their recesses were listless breaks in the routine of classes. To see their children or their neighbor's children doing happily that which was drudgery to them will be a rare treat. And so arises the idea for your first school entertainment.
