Abstract
This project represents alternative delivery systems and activities that supplement the 4th grade, Silver Burdett, and 5th grade, Follett, social studies textbooks. It was designed to be used in the regular classroom with the learning disabled student(s). The alternative delivery systems include: 1. Recorded cassette tapes of the textbooks. 2. Suggestions on how to present the material. 3. Study skills suggestions. 4. Textbooks with the main ideas and important facts highlighted. Each activity unit includes: 1. Unit tests - pre and post. 2. Vocabulary activities. 3. Comprehension activities. 4. Study skills activities. 5. Other related activities and/or materials pertinent to that unit. This project provides an alternative social studies program that meets the unique instructional needs of the learning disabled.
